The homeowners were originally torn between the classic lines of post & beam construction and the architectural vocabulary of newer contemporary design. Instead of picking between the two, why not marry them together. The chosen materials, colors and spaces sing contemporary but the timber framing of the roof structure pays homage to the post & beam intent and add warmth and a sense of hand-craftsmanship to the home. The wrap-around modern staircase and second-story bridge that separates the front entrance foyer and living space makes this home unique and special.
